McCollum Heritage 91

Chehalem Mountains Pinot Noir 2022

Light ruby in color with medium intensity.

Strong nose of red fruits with earth notes and light wood.

Medium bodied with medium acidity.

Dry on the palate with nice complexity and a soft mouthfeel.

Showing cherries, currants, light wood, spices, coffee, dark chocolates, earth, tobacco leaf, herbs and black pepper.

Nice tangy finish with soft tannins and tangy cranberries.

This is a very tasty yet young, Pinot Noir from Oregon. Elegant and nicely balanced. Fruit forward with lots of earth notes to compliment it.

Already drinking very nicely now, and will continue to age nicely in the next 5 to 7 years.

Good by itself as a sipping wine or with food.

13.5% alcohol by volume.

Medium ruby red with garnet edges. Layered nose with notes of smoke, very dark, touch of cocoa, baking spices and some tight dark berries. Moderate tannins (6.5/10) and medium plus bodied. Well rounded even at a young age. Notes of bark, dark berries, broken twigs, a touch savory with medium plus acidity. Dry and long finish. Drink from 2018 till 2026. (91+) — 9 years ago

This is a tasty Chardonnay from Chehalem Mountains in Williamette Valley. A tad buttery, and better when properly chilled. Crisp and refreshing.

I Balzini White Label Colli della Toscana Centrale Sangiovese Cabernet Sauvignon 2006

9.1

Drank 7/2/29. Great with a t-bone.

Sangiovese and Cab. Magnum. Nose of plums, pencil lead, and cherries, with earthy notes that suggest it's Tuscan heritage. Red and black fruits, with tannins that are still present, but open up after a 30 minute decant. Nicely balanced, with sour cherry, earth, and leather, backed by dusty tannins on the finish. This will hold for a few more years, but at 13 years, is unlikely to improve.
