Vintage 2019 | Venison steak with mashed carrots. What to pair with it? I had six bottles in my hands and decided this Greek wine from six years old. When young you often do not know what to expect from a wine, the older you get the more you get a trained taste and can choose safe choices. But I like the surprises and the fact I am not aware what to expect. This red has a rich nose with cedar (6 m barrel aging), chocolate and spices. Cherries in taste with a hint of raspberries, quite strong ánd still quaffable. Chocolate in taste too. It makes my day. Fine website from producer but it does not give the grape variety (mavrodaphne?). — a day ago

High novelty factor. Tannins and acid still hanging around which leads me to believe it was fairly big and unruly in its youth. Smooth and earthy, evolved fruit. Maybe a bit pruney but I find this typical of Greek reds. Paired wonderfully with spicy pasta bolognese. — 4 months ago
