Plush, ripe fruit-forward Zinfandel from Napa Valley.
This wine is deep ruby. It has pronounced intensity of youthful aromas. The aromas include primary notes of ripe black cherry, strawberry, blackberry preserves, and black plum sauce. Also, secondary notes of cedar, vanilla, coconut, and nutmeg. And tertiary notes of dark chocolate, espresso, and tobacco.
On the palate this wine is dry although it has some discernible residual sugar. This wine has good balance, length, and intensity. It could improve with greater complexity.
This is a very good wine that is ready for consumption now. — an hour ago
A blend of 76% Cab Sauv, 8% Cab Franc, 7% Merlot, 5% Malbec & 4% Petit Verdot, 18 months in 60% new French oak, deep Ruby, purple edges, with aromas of berry fruit, sweet herb and earthy spice. On the palate flavors of cherry, ripe blackberry and currants with notes of cacao and sweet herbs. Long finish, grippy ripe tannins ending with graphite and earthy mineral. Drink now & over next few years. — 7 days ago
Classic Loire Sauvignon that could be mistaken for a Sancerre right down to the herbaceous aromas and mineral kick. Fresh, dry and distinctively grown-up. O'Briens 12.95 bargain. — 14 days ago
This is a terrific, plain spoken Grenache that will complement a wide variety of meals. Nose shows hibiscus, sweet, plummy kirsch, and hint of flinty, stony minerality. Fruity, round, and balanced in the mouth. Very pure tasting fruit, decent acidity, and finish that, while not super complex, turns a little savory. — 18 days ago
The one that started it all; I feel this wine is so underrated and sometimes even gets a bad rap due the commercial direction the brand has taken. All that aside, I truly believe the wine is worth every cent. The color is a nice deep ruby. The nose has deep bright cherry notes. The pallet is complex with tobacco, plum, leather and earth; a round mouthfeel and a proper finish. The winery may have taken a commercial direction but the vines remain the same and one can taste the Napa soul on every sip. — 14 days ago
