Definitely a nicely done Bordeaux blend here. That nice cigar box touch with some wet stone, mossy kick. Dried fruits on the palate. Acidity is nice, beautiful tannins. — 7 years ago

Intense dark fruits & spices intermingled with perfumed essence of prune, fig, molasses, menthol, clove, licorice, and sweet cherry pipe tobacco. Reminds me of a more feminine aged Caymus SS 👌🏻 Delicious but lacks the staying power. What a killer smokey bbq scent in this gal. Kansas City bbq, nothing from the Carolinas or Texas. And yes, a “gal.” It’s tamed and soft, not too masculine, but deep and complex. Curvey but still sharp acidity. Be careful with this one! — 7 years ago

This is a 2012 Martial Zin. Very good! Surprising so. It was part of a wine club offering, so I didn't have high expectations. Marital is a small case winner we discovered from a sales rep from Chateau Montelena. I would buy on its own regardless of my wine club. Usually a Cab and Pinot guy. — 7 years ago
