Le Nez Yamhill-Carlton Pinot Noir 2011

Steve Lutz the winemaker is spot on in that the 'off' years in the Yamhill/Carlton AVA are turning into gems. Dark cherry, strawberry and subtle tobacco with a strong backbone. This wine can definitely continue to sit but is really shaping up to be a special vintage and delicious now. — 4 years ago

Lenne Estate

Willamette Valley Pinot Noir 2012

I am staying in Oregon tonight and going to the Yamhill-Carlton area for my Pinot Noir. This effort is from Steve and Karen Lutz in collaboration with David O'Reilly and Owen Row. This is a strong Oregon Pinot Noir with aromas of strawberry, cranberry, mint, mocha, and a good forest floor aspect. On the palate I get tart strawberries, dark cherry, cranberry, truffles, clove, and herb note. There is a good grained tannins, a medium + acidity with a long lasting finish. I purchased this wine from my store of choice for $39.99. — 6 years ago
