Macchion dei Lupi is a winery in Suverto, North Maremma, Tuscany. Cabernet Sauvignon and Sangiovese blend grown bio-dynamically, hand harvested and aged 24 months in French oak. Aromas of cherry, leather, black plum and Assam black tea.
Flavours of plum, cherry and strawberry with earthiness and great secondary developments. Medium plus acidity with a nice grip of tannins with a smooth finish. This wine begs anything coming off the grill. They also make a 100 % Merlot called Profeta that is outstanding.

Complex. Nice core of orchard fruit, prominent apples, complimented by stone, salt, and maybe a tad of white pepper. Plus, smoke, rose, and grass. Great structure, silky texture, soft on the palate, nice backbone. Very alluring. — 5 years ago
