Art Series Margaret River Chardonnay 2011

Typical nose of an Art Series Chardonnay with that dried pear character. On the medium weight palate a nice combination of ripe grapefruit and under ripe yellow peach. Medium minus acid. One can’t help but love this Chardonnay. A wonderful terroir, the Gin Gin clone, great winemaking, and an excellent vintage - ticks all the boxes. At its peak but enough acid for a few more years if you wish. That was my last bottle of the 2011. — 12 days ago

@Doug Powers Yes Doug. A good spot for lunch as well where you can get some seriously aged Art Series Chardonnay to go with your fresh WA Marron. Mouth watering just thinking about that.

Art Series Margaret River Riesling 2020

Pale straw . Lemon and lime with some petrol hints ,green herbs , white flower notes as well . Light bodied with high acidity , green apple , lime and grapefruit . Very fresh , high acidity , leaves the palate very fresh , lively . Touch of fresh green herbs on the ok length finish . Would prefer to leave this 2 or 3 years , just to fill out a little more in the bottle and will last well a further 10 or so . — 4 months ago

SBC Santa Barbara County Pinot Noir 2022

Delectable Wine
9.2

The 2022 Pinot Noir (Santa Barbara County) is a stellar appellation-level wine. Bright and vibrant, with terrific depth, the 2022 possesses striking energy, expressive, pliant fruit and fabulous balance. Crushed red berries, white pepper, mint and rose petal all grace this exquisite Pinot Noir. This is, without question, one of the best Pinots in its peer group in 2022. Vintage 2022. Crisp, with some minerality. Love that it’s low sugar. Purchased at Trader Joe’s May 2024. — 4 months ago

Four Sta. Rita Hills Chardonnay 2017

“Four” is a single-vintage blend of the most exciting barrels of Chardonnay from Liquid Farm’s vineyards. Popped and poured; enjoyed with friends over the course of an hour or so. The 2017 pours a striking, intensely bright golden color. I’m not sure I have seen anything quite like it before. It’s nearly neon. On the nose, the wine is redolent ripe and tart tropical fruits: starfruit and pineapple along with lemons, green apple, butter, gentle baking spices (this does see extended time in a small percentage of new oak). On the palate, the wine is dry with what I perceive to be high acid. It’s awesome. Confirming the notes form the nose, the finish is long with good minerality. This is titillating wine that hooks you from sight to nose to palate and it’s the latter that drives it home with the remarkable acid to match the fruit. About as good as any New World Chardonnay I’ve ever had. Drink now through 2039. — 6 months ago

Perfect golden color. This wine is so amazing and complex I could spend an hour describing it. Super deep, a swirl in your mouth for minutes wine. Long finish that smoothers the palate. Insane juice!! — 2 months ago

Idisma Drios Drama Assyrtiko 2020

Really enjoyable wine. Had the 2020 in July of 2024 with Greek lemon chicken, tzatziki and a salad. Hints of lemon with some creamy vanilla overtones. Super interesting. Would drink again. — 3 months ago

Chaillot Cornas Syrah 2020

Already so good! Chaillot is much easier to drink young than the more concentrated and rich Reynard. 2020 Chaillot is gorgeous, perfumed and mineral with layered, vibrant fruit and liquid rock minerality. Beautiful wine and perfect with lamb ribs frites for lunch! — 5 months ago
