Wait, can I rate the same wine twice? — 10 years ago
Philippe Cambie expression. The power of Rhône Valley in a bottle. It´s structured, spicy and tannic. An amazing pairing for red meat lover. — 10 years ago
Not super into reds but this was great! Not to heavy on the tannins. — 4 years ago
This pops with vibrant strawberry and kirsch, but continues reverberating with incense, citrus peel, damp chalk, and licorice. I would happily spend $15 again, but this gives me the confidence to trade up to Halos Gigondas or Chateauneuf du Pape the next time around.
Finally trying this label... Considering the esteem to which I hold Philippe Cambie and my love for Grenache, it's been a long time coming. Cambie, along with a Michel Gassier, produce Grenache-focused bottlings from nearly all the Southern Rhone AOCs under the Halos de Jupiter label. To Cambie, Grenache is the king of all grapes, thus the comparison to Jupiter (Zeus in Greek), forming the basis of the label. The halo symbolizes the appellations that best express the personality of Grenache. http://www.philippecambie.com/en/les-halos-de-jupiter/ — 8 years ago
I love wines blended by Philippe Cambie! He is often nicknamed "the nose of Chateauneuf-du-Pape" for his talent in bringing the best of a vineyard to a blend. This wine is mostly Grenache (80%) with Mourvèdre(20%) to deepen the wine. Gentle extraction and manual "pigeage" during fermentation befor the wine is aged in concrete for one year. It had a dark color with a ruby rim, a nose of black cherries intertwined with garrigue. The palate got darker with leather and spice. A big finish! — 9 years ago

Had it paired with some Mediterranean food. Aromas are mineral forward but have an overripe peach/nectarine flavor with a hint of floral. Flavors are rich, complex, and earthy followed by aforementioned peach/nectarine with a dash of citrus on the finish. Enjoyable and unique, would buy again to share. — a month ago
