,"reds joust spectacularly with the kinds of dishes you think about when there is a cool spring evening that might call for a fire pit— steaks, grilled vegetables, burgers—but the perfect pairing is a rich, slow-cooked Daube de Boeuf, the classic red wine–beef stew of the region." — 3 years ago

Fruity and drinkable, not sweet. Pairs well with beef. — 7 years ago
The 2008 continues to shine. The best year of the Comtes, no doubt. The depth of flavors is astonishing and the Chardonnay shines so bright in this champagne - it is wonderful — 19 days ago
Medium lemon yellow fine , persistent perlage . Quite rich and ripe on the nose with some roasted nuts , lemon peel , some camomile , still quite restrained and a little closed. On the palate again quite full and rich , ripe lemon fruit , orange rind , roasted nuts and a creamy mouthfeel , certainly enough acidity to balance but on the richer side . Good length and lightly toasty finish . This is good now but will probably improve over the next few years and last well a further 5-10 . — 3 months ago
Opened the first night and not impressed, was closed but the following night it opened and morphed into a wonderful balanced wine with cocoa notes in the nose, full body and great finish. — 7 months ago

Smoky. Dark. Inky. Leathery. Good legs and a blueish purple color. Dry, with leather on palate, and a deep blackberry and licorice taste that pairs well with pecans. — 4 years ago

This 12-year-old Domaine Jean Dauvissat “Heritage” Chablis — popped and poured — is still drinking quite well, maybe not quite at the level of the 2014 Premier Cru bottles, but with the solid acidity, still very nice!! I just found 4 bottles in my cellar, and had no idea they were still there!!
@Lyle Fass, if you see this, other than reassuring me of my abject stupidity for burying these in a box with 1985 Raveneau Grand Crus (these were on the bottom, WTH!?!?), I’d love to hear any thoughts you might have on this wine!! — 10 days ago

Fruit forward medium weight fresh minerality bit of oak. Classy. £14 Majestic — 2 years ago
Village Barbaresco (100% Nebbiolo) from various vineyards - including fruit from the prestigious Ovello, Montestefano and Rio Sordo crus. Perfumed and ethereal, quite fruit-forward on the nose with aromas of cherry, rose petal, pine needles and earthy notes and a whiff of tar. Juicy, slightly rustic on the palate with flavors of crunchy red fruit (cherry, cranberry), licorice. Quite dry, slightly harsh tannins (drinking this very young). High acidity. Pairs great with mushrooms — 5 years ago
