Le Clos Des Carmes Pessac-Léognan Red Bordeaux Blend 2019

90+, very young! First time I had a Bordeaux with some saltiness in the taste. The nose stands out. An elegant fresh wine with stony minerality and very young fruit! Needs time… — 3 years ago

@Lyle Fass "gritty tannins and mint forest floor"...the more things change, the more they stay the same. Haven't had this since first released but you nailed it.

@vinokeeno thanks! St. Estephe 95’s are so distinctive. I’m disappointed I said Les Carmes 98!

Château Les Carmes Haut-Brion

Pessac-Léognan Red Bordeaux Blend 2024

Dark cherries and cloves prevail on the nose, then you start to dig in into a very layered nose. Complex and broad spectrum.
On the mouth it is supple and creamy, mid palate is beautiful and rich. The closing is somewhat lifting and refreshing with rose and strawberry flavors overcoming the pleasant bitterness.
An excellent wine for the vintage.
It won’t be immediate. Bit it’ll be a nice surprise in the years to come.
95-97.

Domaine Dujac

Morey Saint-Denis 1er Cru Pinot Noir 2017

Delectable Wine
9.0

The 2017 Morey-Saint-Denis Village from Dujac has a bright red cherry and wild strawberry-scented bouquet, quite Gevrey-like, vigorous and punching above its station in terms of complexity. The palate is structured like all good Morey should be, fine tannins, and though one can detect the whole bunches, they are the guiding hand, neatly enmeshed with the fruit. What a joyful wine. Served blind at Château Les Carmes Haut-Brion. (Neal Martin, Vinous, March 2023) — 3 years ago
