Le Haut Médoc De Mauvesin Barton

Barton & Guestier

Château Magnol Haut-Médoc Cru Bourgeois Red Bordeaux Blend 2020

Delightful. 49% merlot, 45% cab sauv, little petit verdot, and cab franc to round it out. Smells and tastes like cab but drinks a little more smoothly and cleaner with that merlot. Really like it cause its all the cab I like without the part I am less a fan of. — 22 days ago

At Rumbleseat. Dark dry plums upfront. Then a dusty dark fruit middle. Then a nice earthy finish — 2 years ago

2016 vintage. Floral nose. An elegant, fresh medium-bodied Moulis with soft tannin and good length. Fine value. — 2 months ago

375ml. One of my favs! Such great value. More umph, character, and complexity than the Langoa Barton. Rich fruit balanced with terroir elements. Loved it! — a year ago

Château Magnol

Haut-Médoc Cru Bourgeois Red Bordeaux Blend 2018

A Barton & Guestier wine, Blend of 45% Cabernet Sauvignon, 40% Merlot, 13% Cabernet Franc and 2% Petit Verdot, deep Ruby with aromas of black fruits, spice and dried herbs. On the palate flavors of blackberry, currants and ripe cherry with cedar spice and forest herbs. Fine firm tannins, medium+ finish ending with fruit, cedar and earthy character. Good value! — 3 years ago

Château Branas Grand-Poujeaux

Moulis en Médoc Merlot Blend 2016

2016 vintage. Smoky nose at first, developing well with air. More power and depth compared to the floral and fresh Mauvesin Barton tasted alongside. — 2 months ago

375ml. Was great! Not as good as the Haut Marbuzet even though it was 30% more. Classic Bordeaux. Refined and lovely texture. See previous note on the ‘09. — a year ago

Château Léoville Barton

La Réserve de Léoville Barton St. Julien Red Bordeaux Blend 1996

Cool wine-aged Bordeaux. Graphite, leather, tar, dark fruits - flavors I enjoy. Nice fruit remaining for the producer and age. Thinks this might be the Mauvesin in current years? — 3 years ago

Château Mauvesin

Haut-Medoc Red Bordeaux Blend 2000

Blackberry and dark red fruit nose, quite round for a 17-year old, a perfect match for strong French cheeses like Livarot, Saint Marcelin, and Saint Nectaire Fermier. — 8 years ago
