Moulis en Médoc Red Bordeaux Blend

2016 vintage. This historical Moulis estate was bought in 2011 by the Barton Sartorius family (owners of Saint-Julien Crus Classés Leoville-Barton and Langoa-Barton). Merlot is the dominant grape variety here, and even more so in the 2016 blend as Cabernet Sauvignon suffered from frost. 47% Merlot, 28% Cabernet Sauvignon, 18% Cabernet Franc and 7% Petit Verdot. Red fruits (strawberry, raspberry) and a hint of flowers. Medium-bodied and fresh.

Drinks like a big, big, mellowed Bordeaux

Dark fruit, graphite and cedar.

3.5. A wonderful, smooth, tasty Bordeaux. On sale for $23.99, usually $28.99. In October 2021 on sale for $21.84.

3.3. For a 2016 Bordeaux I found this a bit dull, but better after it had time to breathe. On sale for $20.89, but regularly $28.99.
