Another Wednesday Wine Committee lunch, this time hosted by my buddy @Will Adams ! As always, all wines are tasted blind.
This was such a head scratcher. I actually pleaded the fifth here and couldn’t give an appropriate guess. I guessed it was French but couldn’t decide if it was southern Rhône or more burgundy. A lot of complexity here. Peppery and spicy but quite a bit of red and black fruit. — 10 months ago
Simply stunning, full of flavour but elegant at the same time. Wish it was more easily available in the UK . — 6 years ago
Pretty damn solid CDP, lots of earthy spice mixed in with a soft fruit. Structure isn't overwhelming, very drinkable. Almost too earthy for myself, though my wife digs it a lot. Paired with some duck saucisson, which did very well together! — 8 months ago
Very nice. Deep ol dark fruit, tannin-y bite, lovely mellow vanilla lingering finish. Gosh, that's a pleasant way to end the month of May. This would be great with a juicy grilled steak.
Oh yeah; I just grilled a lovely ribeye. Oh, waiting out the steak's post-grill rest is hard. Maybe some more wine to pass the time... — a year ago
Fantastic blend for the price. — 4 years ago
Pretty good. Good balance a little peppery. Great with lamb steaks — 9 months ago
I'm loving Cote du Rhones lately and this is a good example. Fairly thick glass for a CdR. — a year ago
