Kongsgaard Chardonay 2012

Opus One

Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon Blend 2012

Delectable Wine
9.5

The 2012 Opus One is a terrific choice for drinking now. Silky and beautifully perfumed, the 2012 is wonderfully open-knit in this tasting. The purity of the fruit is alluring, There's still a good bit of freshness, too. Naturally, the 2012 reflects the medium-bodied style that is typical of the year, but all the elements are very nicely balanced. Crushed red berry fruit, mint, rose petal, spice and blood orange linger. (Antonio Galloni, Vinous, May 2024)

Was really good. Approaching peak easily could have gone another 3-4+ years. So enjoyable. — 4 months ago

Russian River Valley Sauvignon Blanc 2012

Incredible aging in bottle. Like a pineapple cake but not sweet of course. Just so much more intensity of the tropical notes it has when young. — 2 months ago

Caymus Vineyards

40th Anniversary Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon 2012

New Years bottle. No notes; exuberant red fruits, in balance. Still, I preferred a Bourgogne red at the table, as this not suited to my palate, feels somehow monolithic & uni dimensional — 5 months ago

1hr+ decant. Dark red color with purple hues. Dark cherries, plums, and a hint of chocolate on the nose. Wine was restrained with subtle sweetness and a nice texture. Not sure if it was in a weird phase or slipping past prime drinking. — 9 months ago
