Nice subtle nose of dark fruit and chocolate. Very nice tastes of blackberries, dried sage and a little hint of licorice. A very nice oak vein comes thru on the long finish. This is a world class wine with very solid tannins and just the right acidity. It probably will be better in 5 years but it was very good tonight.

Bone dry, black plum, orange zest, oak. A bit tight out if the bottle. Short finish length. Acidic. Not a cocktail wine. But paired nicely with a Delmonico, as the acidity tames the marbling and adds a supple, if simple, note to the meal.
