The Kindeli wines from Alex Craighead require at least a decent understanding of natural wine and wine faults. These are beautifully crafted rustic wines usually polarized by oxidation or reduction. Verano is of the latter group, a fire cracker red blend of aromatic whites, all unrecognizable and heavily influenced by native yeast and mild to moderate skin contact. It has a grainy matzah meal aroma that mixes to concentrated tart citrus - full bodied, all full of sunshine too. — 4 years ago

Very good stuff hiding under extreme reduction - the smell of eggs and sulfur that won’t give way without a fight. Give this time and you’ll find a beautifully assembled Chablis like mix of Chardonnay and Sauvignon Blanc. Highly acidic and weighty from some neutral oak exposure. — 4 years ago
