Just a grocery store wine but I really enjoy the refreshing taste of it, especially with grilled oysters! My friend spent a few days with me who I met in the Navy while in Japan back in the 80’s. Of course friends always cook good food and drink delicious wine while together! — 5 months ago
An excellent wine for the price - $18 here in Hawaii on Maui. Lots of fruit. A combination of chocolate and dried berries. A wonderful dryness also with a modest finish. I think it overpowered the roasted chicken I paired it with. Better with steaks or red sauce pasta. I would buy again — 5 years ago
Last ‘15, aged well! In the autumn of 1989, Jess Jackson acquired the Zellerbach winery and renamed it in honor of his late father, Jess Stonestreet Jackson. From higher elevation vineyards, golden straw with stone fruit aromas & floral tones. On the palate apple and pear flavors, buttery with layered spice, goid acidity balance supporting the French oak aging. Medium finish ending with citrus mineral chatacteristics. Very nice, drinking well now. — 7 years ago
Rec’d 10/2015 in a shipment. Consumed 12/2018. Rich, extroverted aromas of berries, chocolate, and leather are supported by French and American oak notes. The balance in this orchestra of bold flavors comes together handsomely in a long, gentle finish. — 7 years ago
I’m a sucker for Merlot... this one doesn’t disappoint at all. The Grand Reserve is clearly worth the few extra bucks more — 8 years ago

Maistui raparperipiirakan ja savulohen kanssa. Mukavan pehmeä, ei aggressiivinen. — 5 years ago
Fruity aroma, subtle tongue taste and dry, slightly acidic finish — 6 years ago
Still powerful tannins, could cellar a bit longer. Good balance, but to much body, little to much acid, fruit is somewhat muted. Great with steaks — 7 years ago
Smooth and easy, not oaky paired with Chicken Cordon Bleu Quesadillas — 8 years ago

Consumed 06/2020. Received this in one of my shipments and aged it for a few years. Flavor profile is deep black cherry, Cassis and red current flavors. — 6 years ago
Received 10/2015. Consumed 12/2018. This is aged for 24 months and 99% French oak, 67% new. The flavor profile is inky/purple color. Deeply aromatic with blue and black fruit tones and mineral notes. Well extracted, rich layers, with chewy tannins and a luscious long finish. Of note, the Mount Veeder region produces Cabernet berries that are abnormally small, resulting in intense concentrated flavors. The mountain vineyards signature is clear in this wine. Alcohol is 15.0% by volume. — 7 years ago
Seriously good Chardonnay from an unlikely AVA. The Finger Lakes can be very hit and miss, but sometimes you find gems like this. Restrained and balanced, with a very subtle aroma of pineapples. It has some weight to it, but also firm acidity. There’s probably some oak at play, but it’s very much in the background. And at only 12% ABV you can have a couple glasses, too. — 8 years ago
i found this to be an unusually complex chardonnay. Not particularly fruit forward, pear and light citrus. Much more pronounced is the vanilla and caramel towards the back which bit of herb right at the end. I liked this wine, especially at a $13 price point.
