Third of the blind red wines at this quarter's S&E Wine Club, which for red was either Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc or Merlot from either Rutherford or Stags Leap District. Thanks Dave and Jenna!

Dark ruby core with garnet edges. Candied cherries on the nose with dark cocoa and a touch stinky. Medium plus tannins (6.5/10) and medium plus to full bodied. Layered palate with dark berries, spices, bramble berries and black cherries. Long and lingering finish. A bit stern even with a four and a half hour decant. Drink till 2027. — 9 years ago
