More of that catnip. A nuanced and developed version of Gamay that just dances on the palate. Fruit doing a tango with tannin, which showed up a bit late to the party because it was doing a foxtrot with the acidity in the hallway. Brilliant juice. — a day ago
Lovely damp, musty, mossy green. Dried mango and star fruit.
Pairing with willoughby cheese, almonds, apple onion jam, and rustic bread. Perfect! — 3 days ago
Cornalin grape: first!Dark purple color, brilliant. Nose not too marked by aging. Black fruits with a beautiful aromatic density also aromas of flowers. The mouth is semi-full-bodied, recalling by its structure and its freshness Syrah/Grenache, by its earthy side the Cabernet-Franc: black fruits, freshness, liquorice, roasting, chocolate ... A rich aromatic range which suggests a beautiful aging capacity. Another nice bottle of Chamoson in AOC Valais 🇨🇭
Cépage Cornalin : première !
Robe sombre violine, brillante.
14, first vintage of this Chassagne monopole I’ve seen chez Ramonet, just killed it, so I had to uncork a 17. Light color, nose and palate redolent of citrus and white flowers, it’s a bit leaner than 14 but a very nice quaff after a tough week. Hopefully it’ll gain a bit of density with some time in the cellar but it’s a pretty wine now. Love Ramonet. — 10 days ago
Dark ruby purple in the glass. Inviting nose and palate of black cranberry, blackberry, and juicy licorice. Medium full body. Medium tannins (only on the finish). A cru Beaujolais that will appeal to newbies and snobs alike. Just enough fruit. Just enough “stuff.” Drink now through 2022. — 12 days ago
