From 100% estate-grown fruit,
Brooks Rastaban Pinot Noir 2011 is a wine of fantastic contrasts and angles. The nose comes across as dark and brooding, laden with black cherries and blackberries, minerals and dried rose petals. On the palate, however, it presents a lighter body than expected with bright acidity, firm tannins and tart red fruits: pomegranate, rhubarb, and rose hips. As with the Janus Pinot, the finish is pleasantly tinged with exotic spices notes. 12.3% ABV | Sample — 11 years ago

Slight scent of sour apple on the nose. Very light on the pallet with hints of apple and citrus. Not a huge fan of white wine but would drink again. Great pairing with chicken. — 6 years ago
Great salinity, a decent amount of dryness. Really enjoyable. — 6 years ago
Horseblanket, raspberries, cherries, strawberries, good acidity — 8 years ago
Awesome can franc! If you like the veggie peppery expression then this is for you. Higher than usual acidity makes it slightly lighter and oak adds notes of the forest after rain — 10 years ago

Cork went backwards into the bottle, but was intact. Lovely medium-red color, faint bricking on edge, dried red fruits, subtle American oak, very suave on the palate, yet still shows some tannic grip into the long, lingering finish, I’ve long adored these 1980s/early 1990s Pesquera “regular” Ribera del Duero tintos, which avoided the much more lavishly oaked Janus Riserva cuvée, and most amazingly, how long these $18-20 regular cuvées will age!! — 8 months ago
