Still a bit young. Definitely got more in the tank for the future. Good drinking now with ribs. — 7 months ago
Brought out of the cellar. From a trip to Napa in 2011? Cherry and tobacco on the front. Hints of mint as it lingers. Still a full tannic finish after 16 years. Another bottle in the cellar to try in a few years more. Paired with locally sourced braised beef short ribs. — 10 months ago
This 44% Grenache/42% Syrah/14% Mourvèdre is (forgive for the basicness of the word, but it’s true) delicious. One of those blends you really pick up each of the grapes’ best offerings. Plummy dried purple fruit and fresh red plums mingle with black olive, meeting floral hints, all ballasted with earth and minerality. The nose is rather enchanting. The tannin/alcohol/acid balance is appreciated. It is warming, spicy, and lifting, but with saline notes on top of tobacco. And punches WAY over its weight for the price point. — 6 months ago
Mildly fruity aroma, inky black and nearly opaque, dark blackberry and blueberry with mild tannins. Delicious. — 9 months ago

One of the bottles from my annual WWC hosting, opened alongside a 2020 Chateau Beaucastel Blanc.
46% Grenache Blanc/31% roussanne/23% Chenin Blanc.
More expressive and dialed up compared to the Beaucastel (not a big surprise). Medium gold in the glass. Bright and juicy roussanne notes of orange marmalade and apricot, alongside white peaches and a powder-sugar funnel-cake type aromatic. The Chenin gives this a good spine of acidity to prevent the rich and full-bodied entry from being flabby. Honey-roasted nuts, honeycomb, lemon cream, underripe pineapple and a savory/waxy finish. The warmth comes out at the finish, but it’s not substantial. Really nice with 1-2hrs of air. — 12 days ago
