Exquisite. Quince and honeysuckle. Paired exquisite with gruyere fritters. — 7 months ago
Finally getting around to posting wines from my annual Napa trip from two weeks ago. Always goes by quick! Lots of fun new stops this year.
Really enjoyed my visiting with Will at Mending Wall where he poured Rivers-Marie as well as his personal label William & Mary.
A baby, but lots of great things ahead. The fruit is very pure and concentrated without being overly rich. Hardly any trace of oak. Bright lemon zest, crushed limestone, honeysuckle with fresh and zippy acidity. Lots to like here. Thanks for a wonderful hosting @William J. Segui . — 2 years ago
Fire. Satsuma, mandarin and crunchy texture. — 5 months ago
fortunately recently found a small supply for $55/b, less than release price, and it’s even more delicious due to that price. Just scrumptious crunchy bright yellow orchard fruit and citrus, not at all oxidative or yeasty, just lovely, fresh, and delicious. This is real bright and fresh. The 2011 wasn’t at this level, 96 was/is stupendous, and I’m hooked. I don’t know who Angeline is but I love her very much. — 5 months ago
1991 Dominus. Dinner with J&L B and D&M H, while staying with D&M in Santa Ynez. Opened and decanted right before serving. Loved it. Drinking beautifully. Still had some fruit in it but well balanced and some good earthy qualities. JB and I preferred this to the ‘94 Screaming Eagle we drank afterwards. — 2 years ago
Jim Wagonfeld
Light/medium yellow. Full nose of white fruit and flowers. Palate adds a spectrum of exotic fruits/pineapple. Stony and acid to balance the buffet of fruit. Really long. Terrific stuff, even as an infant. — 2 months ago
