Savage Grace

Dineen Vineyard Côt 2020

New vintage, yummy blackberries and, er, tobacco. Becoming a favorite. After 30 minutes, a healthy dose of fine-grained skin astringency emerges. Tangy or slightly tart on finish, with plenty of mouth-coating skin tannins. Worth decanting a couple of hours — 9 days ago

Deep color. Maroon of blood. Smells lovely. Juicy and fresh aromas with leather and cherry cola. Flavors are dusty cherry and lean red meats. Amazing on point Syrah. Chewy and delicious. — 8 months ago

Syrah 2018

Basic ‘farmy’ label. Screw-top ease of opening. Deep color of Santa Rosa plum skins. Smells of sage smoke, wood shavings, rose petals, and berries. Classic Syrah flavors of mineral-water, plum jam, and savory pork-chops. Chewy and dense. Complex and intriguing. Hint of pepper and nutmeg on the finish. — 5 months ago

Savage Grace

Copeland Vineyard Cabernet Franc 2017

Dense purple red, medium to high pigment extraction. Plum, cherry and black currant aromas. Rounded cherry flavor with lengthy, almost syrupy mouthfeel. Decanting should bring out additional flavors, including plum and cola. Spearmint and black pepper aftertaste. Nice layers to this one — 2 years ago
