Pisoni Vineyard Pinot Noir 2010

I brought this wine to dinner almost as a joke, since I stopped buying the Pisoni PN and trashed this Vintage years ago. To my surprise this turned out to be quite nice with a lot of dark berries and nice smooth finish. There was a lot of wines at the dinner so had a bit leftover. The second day it was okay but developed a bit of vinegar notes on the nose and taste but sill had blackberries and blueberries all around. Have one bottle of the 2011 which I will get to shortly.

Miner Family

Rosella's 777 Pinot Noir 2018

18’ Miner Rosella’s Pinot . Color resembles a ruby/purple. Nose fresh picked strawberries, cranberry, brown sugar mist. Opened it over a week ago and threw the cork on it. Still a full -bodied beast of a Pinot. Strong cherry, red berry flavors to it, sassafras, slightly non-expressive finish. Can’t miss if you’re patient for another year or two. One of if not the best thing I’ve enjoyed from Miner. Cheers! Wait another 2/3 years / decanting for 2 hours +. — 2 years ago

Belle Glos

Las Alturas Santa Lucia Highlands Pinot Noir 2021

‘Las Alturas' Spanish for 'the heights', a fitting name, this vineyard located on one of the highest grape-growing benches in the Santa Lucia Highlands AVA. 4th gen Winemaker Joseph J. Wagner from family with farming & winemaking roots in Napa since 1906. Met Joe several times. Deep Ruby (darkest Pinot I have come across). Nice berry and floral spice aromas. Rich cherry/plum flavors with oak, spice and vanilla. Long finish, bold ending with sweet oak notes. Very Nice! A Fav! — 3 months ago

Sparkling Brut Cuvée Santa Lucia Highlands Chardonnay 2016

The new 2016 just released. I love their sparkling wines. It’s truly one of the best if not the best domestic sparking wines. — 2 years ago

Sierra Mar Vineyard Pinot Noir 2019

An excellent SLH Pinot. Dark garnet in color, 14.7% ABV yet perfectly integrated. Sierra Mar is one of my favorite SLH vineyards and ROAR knows how to get the best expression fr these berries. Easily good for 3-5 years, perhaps more - has the tannins to go long. Let’s all get along. Cheers! — 2 years ago

Morgan

Highland Santa Lucia Highlands Chardonnay 2020

Lemon, oak, and butter, but all nicely balanced. Medium body, medium plus acid, medium alcohol, and medium plus finish. I’ve been a longtime fan of Morgan chards, and this one doesn’t disappoint given the price point. — 4 months ago

Patz & Hall

Pisoni Vineyard Pinot Noir 2018

Incredibly rich but still a delicious Pinot. Herbal aromas of tarragon and spice surround the core of stewed strawberries and black cherry. Palate is dense with creamy tannins and quite a bit of new oak is present. Vanilla, Cherry, and cola on the 30+ second finish. I’ll wait another couple years to open the next one. — 9 months ago
