I tend to hoard Grenache because it’s not like, the variety that’s just out there hanging out everywhere. But I love it so much maybe I should buy lots so I can enjoy freely.
This one is like Pinot Noir but hulked out in a good way (ps have you watched She-Hulk it’s brilliant if you don’t like it for the reasons a lot of incels I’ve heard don’t then you are a bad feminist and I stand by that) oh wait hi wine.
It has oodles of ripppppe red cherry, coupled with a spicy peppery nature I think is born both of Grenache’s inherent white peppery/floral vibes and a decent amount of stem inclusion giving it notes I personally like to call “vine-y”. It’s a big wine in many ways but so smooth and light on the palate. Like a structured jacket made of soft, supple, lightweight material you are almost confused how it can warm you so. Body and soul. — 2 years ago
So textbook, so ethereal - aged Brunello is just on a whole different level. Barely opaque from a generous vintage, big extraction has given way to a more delicate, elegant & nuanced nose of dried herbs, early season cherries, hi-toned note, tobacco leaf, damp Earth, bramble and a strong vein of minerality. Med bodied, just velvet, so seamless w/interplay of tannins & acidity. So much mineral & stone on palate?! I say drink these now. — 2 years ago
2020 vintage. Checked multiple (4) Trader Joe’s locations to see if there was any more of the verry solid 2019 vintage left anywhere. No luck. Took the plunge on the new vintage. Still worth the ca$hi$h. Lots of prettier fruits and medium body. Not as much structure as the 2019 but that dropoff was expected. Won’t drink as much of the 2020 as I did the 2019 but for $14.99, it’s still a relative bargain. Will hit again. 4.8.24. — 24 days ago
Just delicious! I’ve had great luck w/Savoie wines and this was no different: pours extremely dark, inky, opaque, brooding taking its time to unfurl black & red fruit w/depth, earthy w/a hi tone note along with licorice and forest floor. Big mouth filling broad across palate, gobs of fruit but all fit into sturdy tannic frame. Well cut - a Country Squire — 2 years ago
It is a shy violet or rather there are shy notes of violet? It smells of jam and chocolate liqueur and the body…it is like hi alcohol but keep it in mind and the ripeness of blue and black amd also so (little) red so this is heady with balance.
If we could only.
Really though there is a chocolate and MULTI-FRUIT thing happening. So fun. I should add more now but I’m a smidge intoxicated with this elixir — 2 years ago
A real beaut: muddled reddish, limpid, w/flecks of bricking (already) w/gorgeous hi-toned cherry & strawberry notes, but so much floral, just amazing, also tarry earthy aromas… spice - complex nose. Med to light bodied frame, clean / fresh / elegantly structured, minimal tannins balanced nicely w/acidity. More floral flavors, generous red fruit and played well with homemade smoked pork pizza — 2 years ago
Find this bottle and buy a few. Great potential.
A nose of dessicated strawberry, raspberry, tabacco. Hi tannins. Medium acid. Would like to see how it ages.

Purchased at winery: legit Priorato here with that schisty style, took forever to open, disintegrated cork, and I almost lost hope - eventually yielded stunning eclectic & complex nose of dusty minerals, cherry & blackberry compote, medicinal, spice, a hi-toned note, really evolving. Smooth rich luxurious on palate, great density & mouthfeel, tons of minerals & red & black fruit w/just enough acidity to balance it all out. Persistent finish. This isn’t their hi end bottling, and it isn’t Clos Mogador or anything like that, but this is absolutely Priorato with some more life ahead. — 2 years ago

2021 vintage. Medium-heavy body (which, for a Gigondas, is interesting). Big nose, big spice, big extraction. California-styled Gigondas/wannabe CDP but it worked...esp for the ca$hi$h. Pork chops or fowl forever! 4.17.24. — 15 days ago
