Bright light golden color. Fragrant aromas of baked apple and pear along with notes of white flowers and wet stones. The palate is full of apple, pineapple and orange flavors. Popped and poured; no formal notes. Just old enough to drink itself, this Special Club from Goutorbe is vinous and firing on all cylinders right now. There is such a compelling mix of primary and secondary characteristics with structure and fruit in perfect balance. A lovely opening glass of bubbles for what was certain to be a memorable night. Bought at Wally’s @ Resort World. Big fan of this store. Great selection and not insane prices. With $50 cork fee pretty much everywhere in Vegas, very good option. I will say they don’t have many wines that are “ready” outside of the high end room.

Light garnet color with a ruby core. The nose is dominated by smoke and funky slate with hints of rose petals and red berries. The red berry fruit extends to the palate along with hints of plum, dried herbs and pepper spice. Long finish. Firm tannins and medium-plus acidity. Very interesting. 2015. By the time we added this delicious Burgundy to the table while we were still enjoying the Diel Extra Brut Sekt and the R. Lopez de Heredia Vina Tondonia Gran Reserva Rosato it created a perfect spectrum of colors and flavors to match the dishes prepared by the Boiler Room chefs. I opened this bottle of the 2013 “Cuvée Marie Beurrie” the day before and poured into a ship’s decanter for a couple of hours before returning to the bottle. In the glass, just, wow. This is developing still with the darkest brambles and stone with purple flowers and garrigue. This is so beguiling, so deep with tannins and acid for days. Full of power and grace and stunner with cassoulet, Toulouse sausage and duck confit. This could use another decade easily and drink well through 2053. — 2 months ago

Beautiful cuvée with age. Bottle bought 10 years ago and likely disgorged around 2010 or so.
Black cherries, liqueur tangerines, dried stone fruits, blackberries, mix of black raspberries/raspberries, rainier cherries, delicate but razor sharp chalkiness, limestone, sea spray, sea fossils, bread dough, baguette crust, soft wine spice, rainbow, floral bouquet, shape acidity, good tension, excellent structure & balance. The finish is elegant with power that lasts minutes. Excellent with Duck Confit, goat cheese with herbs.
