CVed 1/24/18. Deeper golden color than first wine. Distinctly oxidative nose with honeyed notes, stone fruit and minerals. Acidic and biting texture and finish that's long. Worried was premox but it's fine. Better drink up though. Not clear from where but must be early Gordon's. — 7 years ago

Gordon's Spanish tasting 9/21/16. Galacia NW Spain. Atlantic influence of cool climate and acidity for first flight of whites. Nose more salinity and complex and cut with acids and minerals. Aged ten years in stainless steel tank and used to blend but released last year on its own. Albarino. Palate that is complex and balanced towards minerals and acids. Long finish of stones. — 8 years ago
CVed 1/26/18. Last of three. Nose seemed more Bordeaux! Good balance and texture and earthy notes and tannins, with long finish. For more years. Seemed like a modernist French style! $60 Gordon's and partial aging in French Oak! No wonder! — 7 years ago
CVed 1/26/18. First of three. Nose of red fruits and earth. Palate that's acidic yet silky, good texture and lively. Medium finish. Gordon's $18 good value. Opened 1/12/24! Found in stash, tasting very nicely six years after poke, a record! — 7 years ago
CVed 1/23/18. Darkest ruby color of three. Prominent rocks and dark soil and iron and black fruits on nose. Firm grip and texture on palate with tannins but almost silky wrapping and long finish that bites at first but then slowly fades into deliciousness. Interesting that three all very different. This one on the wild and masculine side. Still needs time but should become a great wine, I hope. Traditionalist in the best sense. $55 Gordon's back then! Bought three. — 7 years ago
CVed 1/26/18. Second of three. Strong funk on nose literal barnyard manure but gradually blew off into iron earthy fall leaves with mature cherry notes. Palate balanced and lithe, long finish. Good recovery! Origin unknown. Must be early Gordon's. Note: even overnight the empty glass with a bit of wine still shows that earthy funk but in a poorest way. Terroir indeed! Opened 2/22/18. Wow so not at all prominent funk on the nose! If anything a bit reticent. Cork in perfect shape. Wonder why. Great balance on package and long finish. Perfect pairing with pasta red sauce eggplant. Yum. Upping score by one. — 7 years ago
CVed 1/24/18. Nice golden color. Straw, white fruit, quince, chalk, minerals on nose. Acidic balanced medium body firm texture and intensity on palate with a good long finish. Would be great food wine. Gordon's back then $28 and good value. — 7 years ago
CVed 1/23/18. Second. More funk and earth and minerals fall leaves on nose with dark fruits. Firm body and clear tannins on palate but already nicely integrating likely with wood and with long biting finish that shows first minerals and then fruit. Needs more time to come together but it's good. Yang to yin of first wine. From La Morra. Gordon's $24 good value and have other vintages. — 7 years ago
Trixie
Subtle sweetness of raspberry and strawberry goes well with the juniper.
Makes a lovely cocktail using Fever Tree tonic. 🍸
