Last tried this 2 years ago and it showed beautifully then with similar notes this evening. After a 90 minute decant the plum, spice and tobacco notes were front and center. In the glass a dark purple hue and the palate, more plum, blackberry and very fine-grained tannins ride along the finish. Have had a few of these Fidelitas offerings now, serious stuff and great value here. — 7 years ago
Xmas 2019 gift from dad; Hillary is a former winemaker with Fidelitas. Had with NYE dinner (duck, mushroom risotto, salad) in the Catskills cabin. — 5 years ago
1998 visit to Blackwood Canyon.
Met Michael Moore, became good friends. Absolutely blew my socks off with every offering he had- decanted wines and tank samples till 2 am! Talked regularly for the next few years: came close to partnering with him on several ventures(which included almost buying a neighboring vineyard, and an exotic/gourmet food company)
Michael's winemaking vision made him many friends (consumers),and enemies (other local winemakers). His philosophy: to make the wines of Pre-WW2 France with the grapes of Red Mountain. If you are fortunate enough to find any- they were meant to be laid down for the next 40-60 years. All of them. My only regret: not buying more when he was still with us. RIP Michael- we miss you — 6 years ago
Really like this. Savoury on the nose (olives, tabacco, brett perhaps?), but the palate was so damn juicy and primary. Some spice too. Yum. — 8 years ago
Every time we open a Fidelitas Red Mountain we smile. A magical AVA in WA state that just delivers in spades. — 5 years ago
I have not met a wine from this vineyard this was not spectacular. Charlie does a nice job optimizing this terroir. @Fidelitas Wines — 5 years ago

What a great surprise! Winemaker Mike Moore left some samples with me 10 years ago because he thought I was the only wine dude in Massachusetts who understood his wines. Unfortunately no wholesaler at the time understood him or his wines, well one did Richard Kzerian appreciated the wines...it is difficult for a wholesaler to sell a wine that has to be decanted for 24 hours and isn't from Bordeaux...it's stinking up the kitchen good right now 😊. Sweet strawberry, red raspberries on the nose. Translucent red...reminiscent of an old Bordeaux. — 8 years ago

Simple, light, but full of charm. Clear purple dress, beautiful shine. Nose typical of the cabernets-francs de Loire. Raspberry, geranium, violet, blackwood, green pepper (but not too much). The mouth is fresh and tense, with a beautiful mineral weft reminiscent of rifle stone, slate or chalk. Served at 15 degrees, it’s a nice treat.
— 4 years ago
