Wow! Not sure if it was only the wine or the paring with our home made Dutch style savory macaroni (I know, sounds paradoxically) but the pairing blew our tops! This is why you drink wine. There is no such other experience to be had on this earth. Vibrant dry penetrating tannins in full harmony with dark fruit juice with under notes of tar and cedar took a hold of everyone of your senses. Kept you in a spell for minutes. Kept evolving. Ahh. Live can be great!! — 3 years ago
I tried an on-special-by-the-glass white burgundy from my favourite wine bar - Hellbound (Adelaide). Wow. Blew me away. Gorgeous, flinty, with flavour shaped from start through to its long finish. Ignorant to a tee, I asked the varietal? Chardonnay. Ok then .. so begun my Chardonnay journey and I’ve discovered the Adelaide Hills does it well. Brings me to this, recommended by @Bob McDonald. and am I glad! At the upper end of my buying range this is worth every cent. Takes me straight to that white burgundy (wish I could remember what it was). Opening with subtle stone fruits (grapefruit first, light peach/citrus following) finishing with a long flinty, minerally finish. Complex, interesting, kept me coming back for more :) — 3 years ago
Great depth of red fruits, Rose petals and Sous Bois on nose. A burnt toffee/varnishy note from the oak. The nose promises more than the palate initially but with air the palate had caught up and grown in volume which was medium bodied showing black cherry and Asian Spices with M+ Intensity and Length. I kept going back to this brilliant Burgundian nose. Opening this wine was unplanned because of a small wine fridge failure but it is always a highlight of the wine year opening a Bass Phillip Reserve - Australia’s Best Pinot Noir I believe. — 4 years ago
2021/3-4. Really lovely - at 20, it is indeed Burgundian in its open, red fruit character, but it still has that hot-stone Chateauneuf character. I’m so glad I kept a few of these - I now have just one more left. Considering the price has doubled, I don’t know how many more I’ll get to lay down, so I’ll look forward to that last bottle of 2001 with a mix of excitement and sadness. — 3 years ago
In 1879, 2 brothers decided to set up a wine business, C.V.N.E., Compañía Vinicola del Norte de España (Northern Spanish Wine Company) or la Cuné, as it is commonly known in Haro, was created and still kept in traditional neighborhood of Haro station today. Deep Ruby with ripe berry aromas and complex spices, 85% Tempranillo, 10% Graciano, 5% Mazuelo. On the palate blackberry, cherry and sweet currant with herb, leather and pepper spice. Fine tannins, well balanced good depth and structure on a long finish. — 4 years ago
Tried at a tasting, like it, so I bought a bottle. An interesting and unique Albariño. Medium lemon color with aromas of stone fruits, citrus, blossom and biscuit notes. This wine was fermented in oak, and kept on lees for 6 months, with occasional stirring (batonnage), giving a soft creamy yeasty tone to the wine, aging well. On the palate flavors of apple and pear with toasty oak notes and vanilla spice. Long smooth finish, good acidity balance, ending with fruit and oak character. Nice! — 4 years ago

So complete. This is a jam packed thrill…Apricot melon honey. So rich and long. It’s a full mouthfeel. Inviting and constant. It kept resonating and continuing. As good as it was today it will only be better the next time! — 9 months ago
