Farmer's Daughter Wines

Mudgee Chardonnay 2017

This quite nice. Smooth and buttery. Strong white fruit flavour like pear and honeydew. — 2 years ago

Paolo Bea

Rosso de Véo Umbria Rosso Sagrantino 2006

2006. I love Paolo Bea wines and had this one several years ago. It has aged well. Now brick red, the dark cherry flavors are still vibrant but the tannins are smooth and the acidity perfect for bruschetta and farmer's market tomatoes. Bottle 0786/14,100 — 8 years ago

Westport Rivers

Farmer's Fizz Rosé

This is great stuff. Love to grab a few bottles every year when we stop by on vacation. Surprising complexity and balance. Very few wineries on the East coast can pull this off so well. — 9 years ago

Louis Jadot

Musigny Grand Cru Pinot Noir 1999

The smell is clearly of a dairy farm, warm, seductive and homely. So quickly a sordid liaison with the farmer's daughter is proposed. Her dubious hygiene dissuades you from further perversions. — 9 years ago

Domaine Comte Peraldi

Cuvée du Cardinal Ajaccio Sciacarello 2012

Wow! Wine of the night. Such beautiful red fruit, enveloping in a farmer's market jam kinda way, with great finesse and a lithe body. Could stand up to steak but was simply gorgeous on its own. Brought back from Corsica by JH. Impossible to purchase here... — 10 years ago

California Roussanne 2012

A profound and stunning white wine. A white wine to change the mind of a white wine skeptic.
For starters, the color is gorgeous - a rich golden hue with a subtle milkiness.
A veritable farmer's market on the nose that evolves wildly over time. Through the course of enjoying my glass, I experienced peach, apricot, orange blossoms, lemongrass, kaffir lime, cinnamon, clove, melon, sandalwood, ginger, galanga, and more that I can't put my finger on.
On the palate it is smooth and round. It offers a zip without being specifically "acidic." I'm having a hard time conceiving what kind of food this would go with, but that's okay because it is so delicious to just sit and drink.
The wood comes out on the finish. There's sort of a bitter melon aspect along with a faint oakiness.
Overall, just a beautiful, trance-inducing wine that is almost erotically charged. It evokes grace, elegance, seductiveness, and gives you the sense that you are experiencing something special. A winner!

Calabretta

Terre Siciliane Nerello Mascalese Rosato

Rosato verging on red. Minerality, hints of cherry (but more like an early spring cherry, if such a thing exists), and some ash/Etna. The old Sicilian farmer's wine that makes you really want to be an old Sicilian farmer. — 9 years ago

Troutman Vineyards

Farmer's Red

Very sweet, a little too much for my taste, but would recommend - a favorite of the winery's town

Webster Cellars

Proprietary Napa Valley Red Blend 2013

Truly noteworthy wine drinking wonderfully now and will only get better with some time. Living in Bordeaux and all over Europe allowed namesake and winemaker Keith Webster a personal look at the world's best wines. Settling in Napa he's now crafting ultra-luxury micro productions of wines he was inspired by, like this one called Right Bank. At 13.9% alcohol it resembles a right bank in more than name. Delicious, "farmer's market fresh" dark red fruits, shimmering garnet/ruby color with soft notes of spice, vanilla, cinnamon and lavender. Pure, clean and fresh mouth feel, good acid, tight, neutral tannins. 100cs production, best of luck finding. Delicious! — 9 years ago
