Last night I had the pleasure of opening the 2016 Domaine Jean-Claude Ramonet Chassagne-Montrachet Premier Cru "Clos Saint-Jean", Cóte-Dor, France.
On the nose are notes of cherry, raspberry, strawberry, clove, hibiscus, vanilla, hints of smokey oak and forest floor.
On the palate the is cherry, raspberry, cranberry, hibiscus, spice, lighly licorice, mushroom and earth.
This wine is beautifully medium to medium + body with medium + acidity and medium fine supple tannins that leads into a wonderful long fresh red fruit earthy finish. Today starts another week of meetings and working hard to enable ourselves to enjoy the weekend that brings us joy and relaxation. Please have a wonderful week and stay safe and healthy. Wow. This is almost somewhere between a cote dor and a cote chalonnaise.
Nose is gorgeous.
It has terrific density and delicious fruit. Some elegant peaches. Nicely mineral and a hint of salt. Perfect acidity.
Still a kiss of unintegtarted oak. Better in 12 months.

"Odedi"
Netofa Winery Dor Syrah 2017, Israel
#KosherWineSunday
Dark ruby in color with a wide reddish rim.
Stinky nose with black currants, black plums, tobacco, vegetables, tar, herbs, black tea, dark chocolates, barnyard and espresso.
Full-bodied with medium acidity.
Dry on the palate with black currants, cooked plums, light oak, spices, vegetables, tar, bitter herbs, black tea and black pepper.
Medium finish with soft tannins and tangy raspberries.
This 7 year old Israeli Syrah is still drinking nicely, although will not last long, so drink up.
Elegant, earthy and complex. Feels like a Northern Rhône Syrah, and very approachable right out of the bottle at this point.
I had this vintage 4 years ago and expected it to improve, but it didn't show much change.
Paired nicely with the dried meats.
Syrah grapes are grown in the Lower Galilee region. A small production of only 5,000 bottles. Kosher and not Mevushal.
14% alcohol by volume.
91 points.
