Tangerine peel, grapefruit, kiwi fruit and grass clippings rush forth as the 2023 Rosato Ali unfurls in the glass. Expressive, cheerful and open for business, the Ali is light on its feet but neatly framed. Just the right amount of spice-inflected bitterness wraps up the finish. $20.00 (Billy Norris, Vinous, June 2024) — 8 months ago
Great white wine with very rich fruity taste. — a year ago
On the lighter side. Dry and complex. — 4 years ago
v07. Treasure! Deep rusted purple color. Fragrant toasted tobacco leaves sprinkled with dried oregano nose. Rich, creamy, blackberry, blueberry, plum and tar fruit. Velvety, slightly chewy, chocolate and soft leather finish. Selfishly enjoyable! — 5 months ago
Deep ruby. Dark sweet plum, salty and floral. The palate is med-full bodied, med acidity, soft-med tannin. There is a dark savoury element that gives the wine gravitas. Beautiful balance. Power without weight. Powerful and beautiful. — a year ago
Good nose … no boogies — 2 years ago
We quite liked this, 2021, bottling in 2024. Label does not say “Sangiovese” or “blend” just Vino Rosso but otherwise the same label, the front has an Angel with a torch. Unique scent noticeable, not unpleasant. — 7 months ago
2015 vintage from magnum.
Bright ruby colour.
Perfumed nose with cherry, plums and dark flowers.
Smooth and savoury with medium acidity, red fruits, earthy, herbs and well developed rounded tannins.
This wine is food friendly.
I got a kilo of local Matsutake mushrooms from a forager friend and made risotto.
