Riesling from various plots in the Kremstal and the Wachau. Fermented in stainless steel, aged primarily in stainless steel with about 5% in neutral oak. Citrus, minerals, floral notes (honeysuckle, white flowers) and a hint of caramel or cotton candy. Fresh, zesty acidity. Good, slightly saline texture. Much riper and rounder than the Nahe wine tasted alongside. — 4 months ago

So much flavor wrapped up in a bright, almost too easy to drink package. No mistaking this for anything but Riesling with an exuberant nose of tangerine, petrol, and pool toys. Great body with supple fruit and mouth watering acidity. Delicious now but sure to cellar well for at least a decade.

More info: the Tesch single plot wines are always spatlese trocken (usually around 12.5%), with around 4 g/l of RS and 7.8 g/l acidity, with no oak.

Pale lemon, the Schlossberg is a touch more floral than the Krone, also showing aromas of lemon, lime, apple, ripe peach and flintstone. Old vines from low fertility slate soils on quarz provide plentiful concentration. This is a soft textured, medium-sweet Riesling with medium body and sharp acidity. An den schönen blauen Donau; this producer grows wine along the river e.g. at Joching; greenish yellow color; nose of lime, honey, grape, spices, wildflowers, and some hydrocarbons; taste is spicy, almost effervescent white grapefruit-driven dry and long. A touch of sweetness could have opened this up. — 3 years ago
