Certainly not a traditional village Chablis, showing heavy ML character and creaminess on the nose after spending a few short months in roughly 50% new French oak. On the palate things unfold differently. Great acidity, stony and briny mouthfeel with saline flavor profile that also offers tart green apple, melon and a hint of lush tropical fruit on the finish. Surprising structure and tension going on here given the style (particularly the aging). It’s a hard sell but nonetheless an impressive wine should you find it in a shop or the wine list. Just don’t expect traditional. — 4 years ago
