Morgon Corcelette Gamay 2018

Josh M

Intriguing nose with floral, mineral and savory fruit; poached fresh berries. Also showing up is a subtle meaty Syrah-like note. The first sip reveals tremendous inner mouth florals; and a prism of bright red, purple and blue fruit appear on the palate. Caressing texture and sensuous tannins. Just ripe with a measured perception of sweetness. On the whole so lifted and elegant. The intentionality is clear; Godard is coaxing expressions of gamay that are beautiful and different than any I’ve tried before, and at a very reasonable price... for now. Very much worth seeking out. — a month ago

Thanks J. Prachtige champagne. Mineraal, citroentjes, impressies van zeevruchten, schaaldieren. Strak, lang, perfect glas om mee af te trappen 😊 — 6 months ago

Morgon Côte Du Py Gamay 2018

Also a winner. More structure, more chewy, more intensely herbal than the Corcelette. But same refined balance of fruit and finesse. — 2 months ago

These sound amazing. Never tried this producer but from what I’ve read she’s making some very special wine. Going to have to track some bottles down.

Morgon Grand Cras Gamay 2016

This is juicy, ripe cherry and hay, earth and iron. This is everything you need in Beaujolais, except it's better. The palate is tremendous! Very long and very wide, radiant cherry all along, nice soft touch on the sides, some tannins that dry the mid palate a bit and a very long finish with a very nice fruit radiating in all directions, some meaty, salty thing, a bit of bitterness too. This is very complex, a real grand cru Beaujolais style. You gotta love it! — 8 months ago
