La Chapelle Auxey-Duresses 1er Cru Pinot Noir 2017

Aroma of violets and cigar box. Bright cherry, fresh acidity, very silky fine tannins. A soft mouthfeel with a medium long spicy finish. Quite nice. Something very refined and elegant about it. — 2 months ago

Les Boutonniers Auxey-Duresses Chardonnay 2014

Apricot, pear, strawberry. Slightly tropical (banana, coconut) Gentle roundness from malo fermentation. Would like to see more acid especially from this vintage (2014). Lower acid leads to the impression that it's watered down The comparison to Roulot is justified and I look forward to seeing more from this young producer. — 3 years ago

Les Meix-Chavaux Meursault Chardonnay 2012

Much better when colder than 55 Fahrenheit. Nice length and interesting spicy notes on the close. The oak is present but not overwhelming. — 5 years ago

Beautiful wine. Drinking very well at such a young age. Cherry, earthiness and spices. Good to the last drop. — 4 months ago

Decanted, opened up nicely over the hour plus. Lean and taut to start, with fruit sneaking around to the front more as it opened. Need to find some more to age (lots of luck). — a year ago

Auxey-Duresses Pinot Noir 2010

This is a really good CdB villages. Fruit, dirt, and funk in proper measure, and with plenty of concentration as well as acidity. Even better than the bottles I had a couple of years ago — 5 years ago

Les Duresses Auxey-Duresses 1er Cru Pinot Noir 2012

I have to stop myself from blabbing about Lafouge every time people complain they can't find great Burgundy for cheap. This one's textbook Lafouge, vibrant with the energy of a Beaujolais. At first the tannin shows itself with a somewhat greyish cast but it melts away quickly and after a little bit it's barely perceptible at all except as the thinnest lace. — 5 years ago
