This falls in the category of excellent qpr. At roughly 10€, this a solid everyday drinker. Full bodied, good fruit and mouth watering acidity. Championed by Jeb Dunnuck who consistently gives this 95 points. Recommended. — 3 months ago

Excellent texture, seemed a bit more oxidized than I would have thought given the age - not flawed in any way, just unexpected. — 4 months ago

Château Latour

Premier Grand Cru Classé Pauillac Red Bordeaux Blend 2001

2001 vintage. Sweet fill. Cork perfect (used a Durand) but more than a bit underwaxed so it was a positively Italian experience during the opening process. I trust those in the know completely understand what the hell imma talking about. Workout! Cork out in one piece and expected amount of sed. Medium body with overtures towards more. Blueberry, tobacco, plum and gravelly, wet earth impressions leading the charge throughout. Grippy tannins providing visible and raised guardrails during. A little editorial...the 2001's were generally emasculated/minimized after the supposed "vintage of the (which one?) century" in 2000. The 2000's have largely failed to deliver the anticipated goods whereas the "meh" 2001's (at vastly reduced prices from the 2000's) are rocking don't bother knocking now. Completely like the guy or girl that was always cute but totally caught fire after high school. A late(r) bloomer and completely underrated. This wine has an easy 20-spot of top-notch drinking ahead. 1.24.26. — 4 months ago

La Bastide Blanche

Cuvée Fontanéou Bandol Mourvedre Blend 2022

Dark ruby/ purple in color with a short reddish rim.

Fruit nose and medium plus in body with medium acidity.

Dry on the palate with nice complexity.

Showing red cherries, currants, plums, chocolates, spices, tobacco leaf, dark coffee, peppercorn and licorice.

Short finish with grippy tannins and tart cranberries.

This is a very young Single Vineyard Mourvedre from Bandol. Rich, complex and powerful.

In your face kind of wine, and not very approachable right now, but showing good potential.

Needs a long time to open up, and will continue to age nicely in the next 10 to 15 years. Would be nice to revisit it in 5 years.

Better with food at this point.

A blend of 92% Mourvedre and 8% Grenache. Aged in large French oak barrels.

13.5% alcohol by volume.

90 points.

$40.

Bandol Mourvèdre Blend Rosé 2021

Really floral on the nose- rose bushes? Maybe some saltiness too. Minerality on the palate but also cherries, floral, a bit more savory than fruity. Some acidity and medium body. — 4 months ago
