Grande Réserve Brut Champagne Blend

A glass before dinner. Really fell in love with this producer during my visit in October 22. I like the style of their cuvées and their neutral wood use. They are a producer that ferments in wood more than most.

The nose shows; overripe pineapple, very ripe yellow peach, Bosc pear, mix of red & green apple, white citrus blend, touch of apple cider, brioche, bread dough, saline, sea fossils, withering yellow lilies and spring flower bouquet.

Nice mouth entry, juicy and round. very ripe yellow peach, overripe, juicy yellow peach, nectarines, ripe Bosc pear, mix of red & green apple, white citrus blend-white & pink grapefruit dominant, touch of apple cider, some marmalade, honey notes, brioche, bread dough, vanilln & caramel hues, baguette crust, saline, sea fossils, understated, soft chalkiness that presses the palate on the long set, soft raw ginger, white pepper, withering yellow lilies and spring flower bouquet, round rainfall acidity, nicely, structured, well tensioned, balanced & elegant finish that lasts a full minute.

Perfect w/ Almond Tart finishing.

Photos of; the gate into Vilmart, one of the many stained glass pieces made by the owner in their tasting area, their barrel room and house’s exterior.

Réserve Brut Blanc de Blancs Grand Cru Champagne Chardonnay

Smells like the scrap bin of your juicer full of yellow apple cores and Bosc pear carcasses. Slightly doughy. Noticeably sweet - a glass or two will do. I enjoyed this but won’t remember it much. — 3 years ago

Happy Thanksgiving Eve! 🍁 🦃 🍽 🎃

On Thanksgiving Eve, I bake the Pumpkin Pie. Mine is done with clove which gives it better complexity and a deeper flavor. It’s the only one I’ll eat now.

Turkey is busy soaking in brine.

Beautiful nose of bruised apple and yeastiness.

The mousse is gorgeous with micro oxygenation. Bruised apple/Bosc pair, sea spray, beautiful mid volcanics, powdery chalkiness with amazing lively acidity & smartly polished.

Over delivers its price point of $39.99.

@Eric As much as I’d like to take credit for it, I have to give to Marie Callender's. I’d did make crust for my pecan pie last weekend. Just not when I have to do all the prep & cooking for Thanksgiving. Enjoy a great Turkey Day.

Domaine des Buissonnes Sancerre Sauvignon Blanc 2022

This 2022 is a really great Sancerre. Green notes like beach peas and boxwood with a full mid palate rich with melon, underripe peaches and Bosc pear. A hint of tarragon and chives and other herbs. Just shy of $40 a bottle but worth it. — 9 months ago

Compass Box

Great King Street Blended Scotch Artists Blend

Light golden color reminiscent of apple juice. Warm apples, baked pineapple, grilled lemon, walnut brioche, pine nut, hazelnut, and Bosc pear and vanilla cooking aromas. There is light Spanish cedar trailing. NorCal wildflower honey meets pine nettle and orange peel on the palate. Cedar plank, green peppercorn, currant leaf, lemon zest, grapefruit oils, and flash of cinnamon oil paints a pleasantly complex narrative of autumn comforts and campfire smokes with brittle caramel bits and bee pollen place it squarely in the meadow. Packs a surprise for those who underestimate it based on pale color. No caramel color here, and no dark shadows. Bright, lively, alive. #compassboxgreatkingstreet #compassbox #compassboxwhisky #scotch #blendedscotch #edinburgh #scotchwhisky #whisky #whiskey #artistsblend #johnglaser #nonchillfiltered — 3 years ago

Brut Réserve Champagne Blend

It’s Miller time. Well…actually Billecart time. I like this more than I buy it. One of good cuvées easily found in 375ml.

The body creamy, layered, nice c02, bruised golden & green apple, ripe Bosc pear, pineapple flesh, tropical melons-mango driven, lime & lemon zest, cream soda, cream, white spice-ginger, bread, yeast, brioche, soft but grainy moist chalkiness, sea spray/fossils, slightly chard sourdough toast, wet/softened alluvial, limestone, wet river stone, notes of flintiness, yellow lilies, white orchids, fruit blossoms, jasmine, rainfall acidity, excellent balanced fruit & earth, tension, structure with a juicy two-minute polished finish that falls onto beautiful minerality.

BTW, home grown tomatoes with Companion Bakery wheat sourdough, lightly toasted w/ olive oil, burrata, Tondo balsamic (stunning), olive oil & fresh basil never gets old.

Love half bottles of good Blanc Champagne at Costco for $18. Sure makes it feel like Christmas come early.

I’m dreaming of a wine Christmas. What’s on your list?

Really nice cuvée from Laurent-Perrier and even better price point.

Bruised apple & Bosc pear, pineapple juice, nougat with nuts, ginger ale, vanillin, white spice, sea spray, soft volcanics, easy, powdery chalkiness, bread dough to baguette, withering lilies and spring flowers. Lively acidity and well balanced, rich, elegant finish that persists minutes landing on minerals & spice.
