Absolutely gorgeous and fully mature Zinfandel. Nose of red fruits and lovely balsamic. So smooth with still slightly tannic finish. Actually no hurry to drink this one. Came from one of Joel’s archive offerings. — 10 months ago
Very interesting old Zin nose of very ripe red fruits cherries and earth and stones. But kind of fall short on palate that’s more acidic. Medium finish. Went well with food. AA value 9. Two days later in Eto may be even better! Seemed to have opened up more and now there’s lively texture and lift and elegance. Surprising for 32 year old wine. Upping from 8.9 to 9.1. This vineyard revived for early Ravenswood Zin by Peterson. Dickerson died in Thailand sunami. — 4 years ago
Dickerson. Excellent bottle. Ravens wood. Light and extended finish — 9 years ago
What a joy to taste this unique wine. A gift from the family, my first time tasting Ruby Cabernet, showing some bottle bouquet but opened up to show some nice aged characteristics, very soft and supple, enjoyable experience for sure. — 2 years ago
Slightly port-like on the nose. Raisin up front. Smooth light tannins leading to a surprisingly tart finish. Twenty-three looks good on this wine. — 7 years ago
I have heard a lot about the ageability of Ravenswood zins and I've had my share of old ones, some good and some bad. This is the best I've had, which surprises me because it is not one of the single vineyard designates like Monte Rosso or Dickerson. Still plenty of fruit, fresh, vibrant, spicy and showing a deep complex secondary profile. A nice slow sipper to end the night. — 9 years ago

103 yr-old vines. Nose has such pure, ripe, perfect blackberry fruit, and slightly smoky warm, dry gravel notes. Soft as silk on the palate, with ripe, concentrated fruit in a very elegant package. Pretty decent acids. Zero jamminess or residual sugar. Only 14.2% alc. This is my kind of Zin. It’s young but is perfectly ready to drink right TF now. — a month ago
