High altitude, century-old Tempranillo produced by Mariano Garcia and his sons? Yes please. Popped and poured; enjoyed over two days. Better on Day 2. The 2019 Garmón pours a deep purplish ruby with what’s essentially an opaque core; medium+ viscosity with moderate staining of the tears. On the nose, the wine is developing with beautiful notes of dark fruit: dark cherries, Marionberry, figs, roasted red peppers, bay leaf, dry earth, cedar, and gentle baking spices. On the palate, the wine is dry with medium+ tannins and medium+ acid. Confirming the notes on the nose. The finish is long and rich and super satisfying. To be frank, this was merely a good wine on Day 1. On Day 2, this was showing some serious quality and impeccable balance. The best sip was the last sip. You can drink now with a huge decant but these will be better after 2029 and should drink very well through 2040+. — 10 months ago

Very pleasantly delighted by this spur of the moment choice. Everything is in balance and harmony. Dark cherry nose and palate, peppery finish — 4 years ago
