Creamery Wines

Barrel Fermented California Chardonnay 2017

Absolutely wonderful Chardonnay: nicely buttery, slightly sweet, and very smooth finish. Great flavor profile with a hint of toasty oak that enhances the creaminess but doesn’t overpower it. This is absolutely worth having. — 5 years ago

Bodegas y Viñedos Castro Ventosa

El Castro de Valtuille Mencía Joven 2015

Sharp, acidic, then tannic. Needs air...
Ok, it needed a nice Chapel Hill Creamery asiago-style cheese and Hickory Nut Gap pepperoni. It's still a touch acidic (though less tannic, now); just needs a good, strong pairing.
Edit: Another bottle a few months later was almost opposite. "Research" is required.

Deeelicious! says the white-winer of the bunch. Opus One also represented a few blessed calm moments in a whirlwind of family commotions. On to Opus Two!

Dr. Bürklin-Wolf

Trocken Riesling 2017

Absolutely stunning nose, classically riesling. Bright, zippy, fresh, and every other adjective to describe the vivacity of this taught and angular juice. Tons of citrus washing over the mineral backbone like a tsunami, this wine is extremely expressive and approachable, even if you dont like riesling because its “too sweet”. This wine will change your perception tout suite. Its fully dry and is fantastic with food ( currently enjoying it with some rouge creamery oregon organic blue cheese, [voted best cheese in the world in 2019!] value wise, I dont think it gets better than this, this wine will continue to be amazing in 10-20 years, hopefully some of it lasts until then — 3 years ago
