Domaines Bunan

Rosé Moulin des Costes Bandol 2023

Popped and poured; enjoyed on an outdoor patio on a beautiful autumn afternoon hence, no formal notes. The 2023 Domaines Bunan Rosé delivers what you want of a Rosé from Bandol: the texture and substance of Mourvèdre in a lighter, brighter package. Almost chewy, this delivers such a sense of place for the money. Drink now, on a porch, with a friend. — 11 days ago

I visited this winery in 1985 on a trip to Provence. The label’s the same! Didn’t know the wines were available in the US (assuming that’s where you are).

Château Rives-Blanques

Blanquette de Limoux Brut Mauzac Blend

This was quite nice with lots of brioche and yeast flavors. Maddie in the traditional method with 100% Mauzac. — 4 years ago

Vinyes Blanques Penedès Malvasia Blend

Adore the pineapple taste that shines through. It paired well with Marcona almonds and havarti on a board. — 4 years ago

Château Rives-Blanques

Conservatòri Limoux Mauzac Blanc

Conservatòri, 100% Mauzac Blanc. My first encounter with this heirloom varietal. Dry to slightly off dry, rounded mouthfeel. White floral, lime, underripe lemon and underripe orchard fruit flavors. Mineral finish. Refreshing and different. Medium body, acid, alcohol. Vanilla-like aftertaste. Some lactic character in the finish emerges after 30 minutes. Some history behind Limoux; look online for more — a month ago

Côte-Rôtie Syrah 1999

BYOB event for the Commanderie des Costes du Rhône at Temple Court. Light in color but a fragrant nose with good acidity and tertiary flavors on the palate. Enjoyed with roasted duck breast. — a year ago

Domaine des Costes

Grande Réserve Pécharmant 2010

Beautiful wine. Has a big presence but is well balanced and shows good structure. On the palate, it is dense and complex with currents of anise, loam, and graphite enriching a dark-fruited foreground. Displays noticeable earth and herbal qualities in an otherwise fruit-forward package. Possesses a long and balanced finish. Very well done. — 5 years ago
