Crimson Ranch

California Red Blend

Very smooth, little tannin. A variant of a less expensive version of Conundrum Red. A jammy wine that is big on the palette. — 8 years ago

Meiomi

Monterey County Pinot Noir 2019

Medium body, fruit tone, vanilla, light, similar to conundrum but not as fruit forward. Delicious! — 6 years ago

Emidio Pepe

Trebbiano d'Abruzzo 2015

The conundrum of supreme freshness meets aged brilliance. Orange blossom and lemon, petrol and wax. Oily as fuck. Oxidative. Carmelized lemon peel. Tight acid. Reminds me of my favorite aged wines but not as old. Fruit stripe gum. This is bottle 1 of 2 for us. This can prob age a long while longer. Will save bottle 2 for a while... — 6 years ago

Birichino

Vin Gris Grenache Blend Rosé

Rosé sounds sexy Vin Gris sounds sexier and this Grenache/cinsault/Mourvèdre/vermentino IS. In bottle label, name and taste. It has the bright lightness of rosé from Provence with the silky body of a Bandol rosé and a hint of Tavel richness which is to say it is a conundrum and there is nothing sexier than happy confusion — 8 years ago

Chateau Ste. Michelle & Dr. Loosen

Eroica Columbia Valley Riesling 2013

Tastes of an American Riesling: honey, petrol, herbs, acid, minerals, in that order, each reduced by factors of 10. Nose of a Austrian/German Riesling: deep oil-slick nose and Bouquet de Garni. Conundrum...perhaps...but delicous! — 8 years ago

Vineyard 29

The Essentials Aida Estate Cabernet Sauvignon 2014

2014 vintage. Mid-palate conundrum currently and waiting for it to resolve/head to respective corners. Medium body. Give it another 3-4 years. Usual V29 style evident at the start and finish but a bit of a blood clot in between. 06.11.25. — a year ago

Moulin Touchais

Reserve du Fondateur Anjou Chenin Blanc 1959

Wow. This was a truly profound wine. How such lightness and great depth can exist hand in hand is a real conundrum. A beautiful nose of honeyed spring flowers along the Loire - as long as sin and refreshing as a cold bath in a still river at dusk. If that sounds silly it’s probably due to the effects of this bottle... — 7 years ago

Moulin Touchais is quintessential old school sweet Chenin. Love it!

Domaine Rollin Père et Fils

Ile des Vergelesses Pernand-Vergelesses 1er Cru Pinot Noir 2011

There is such a potent spice to this lovely, yet a cedar-like underbelly. It feels like clove-studded orange pomanders complete with the acid of orange contrasted with a black cherry pie ripeness. A conundrum that keeps you sipping. — 8 years ago
