Cimarron Cellars

Dos Cabezas Wineworks

El Norte Red Blend 2014

Cimarron Vineyard. 50/24/9/9/8 blend of Monastrell, Garnacha, Syrah, Petite Sirah and Counoise. 15% alc/vol. I love the screw cap (seriously). Purple-red, light to moderate pigment extraction, very good clarity. Red fruit “fruit leather” and funk in nose. Cherry, raspberry flavors, cola with length on finish, nice acidity with light skin astringency on finish. A menthol flavor emerges after two hours, while the cola flavor recedes. Still an easy-drinking style as suggested by reviews here of earlier vintages. — a year ago

Cimarron Lake County Red Wine 2015

A nice blend of Syrah, Grenache and Mourvèdre. Medium bodied with tastes of cherry pie and pepper. Went well with my pasta dish. — 2 years ago
