This wine has matured beyond the petrol stage. Still hints of mango and pineapple. The mature flavours are hard to describe, but perhaps strong herbs in combination with ripe fruits comes close. Some fresh acid make it very interesting. Paired it with sweet honey hot spiced boneless ribs. nice combo.

Classic Mosel. This is a Spatlese, but the sweetness has really mellowed after 17 years in the bottle, and it’s very well balanced with the acidity. This was $22 off the shelf which is a ridiculous steal given the quality and age. — 3 months ago
