My third and final bottle. Served in Syrah glasses. Nose has mellowed the new oak after 15 years, but still present. Drank over the course of three hours, and finished with an alpine tartiflette. Nice medium body, good fruit and some bacon drippings on the palate. Very little sediment for an unfiltered wine. — 5 years ago

Valle d’Aosta Nebbiolo (called Picotendro). Made from slightly dried grapes. Light ruby color. Aromas of cherry, plums and brambly herbs. More black fruits on the pallet along with hints of tobacco, coffee, dark chocolate and pepper spice. Nice mild oaky note on the extremely long finish. Bold, yet the tannins are in check from the bottle age. Well structured with well balanced acidity. Excellent quality. Thank you for finding this one, Ron B! — 2 years ago
