Ode to Lucien Peyraud, the founder of Domaine Tempier and this Bandol Rouge style blend would make him proud. 75% mourvedre, 15% grenache, 10% syrah. Drinking well young for purity of the fruit and the finesse the wine shows, but should develop some serious complexity with several more years in bottle. — 6 years ago
2009 vintage was excellent with our steak dinner tonight. — 10 years ago
2020/5/5 with grilled lamb leg heart from a Lulu Peyraud / Richard Olney recipe and grilled zucchini. This certainly had the inimitable Northern Rhone bottle bouquet going, though it’s also quite lithe and red fruited, as opposed to deep and dark, with prominent acidity. It reminds you of the diversity in Northern Rhone terroirs - and that (if I recall) the Chance estate St. Jospeh is from relatively young vines — 4 years ago

13.5% ABV Salute to Lulu Peyraud of Domaine Tempier in France. Lulu’s father owned the vineyard , and she along with her husband took it over. Sadly we lost her in October 2020 at the age of 102 y/o. This is a blend of old vine Mataro and Grenache. Light salmon color, watermelon initially , later apple. Very nice! — 3 years ago
