Nose smells a bit dosagey and creamy. But under that a massively intense minerality that is floral and high toned. Really clear and deep. But needs air for complexity to develop I think. Palate is terrific. Lots of 15 razors and angles. Loads of lime pith and some rock candy note on the finish. Delicious and very young. Elegant and long with cracking acids. Really impressive. Persistent with lovely citrus developing. — 4 years ago
Young and too eager to pleased. Should wait for another 5 before drinking. — 4 years ago
So I felt like a bubbly tonight! Costco pick up..gave it a chill, removed wire cage..barely touched the cork, and it exploded off of the bottle!! I thought my bottle was ruined as my first glass and a half had no bubbles! Thankfully, the effervescent showed up..not sure what happened there!
Anyway, this is a new bottle shape for the Kirkland Brut Champagne. Produced by Manuel Janisson from the Verzenay region of Champagne. This bottling presents a tinge of a rose gold in color and shows more of a yeast nuance from last tasting that I really appreciate! Nice expression of apples, bruised pear, brioche, mango, and crushed rock. I really enjoyed this one! — a year ago
D:5/21. First Substance, at Les Avisés no less. Lived up to the hype to say the least, strong out of the gate. Depth, depth, depth, and continued to gain character for the ensuing 5 hours - approaching a near Sherry like state. Outstanding, especially with the lovely food in the restaurant. — 2 years ago
Dec 11, 2021 Saturday dinner w/ Jack D celebrating J2’s good news. This champagne was such a lovely surprise. Bright, crisp, citrus. Lots of complexity, and lots of fine bubbles. Good with food or alone. Wish I had more. First bottle purchase. — 3 years ago
