2017 vintage. Satellite Wines is the négociant company started by enfant terrible Olivier Techer, owner of Pomerol estate Château Gombaude Guillot and the brains behind "Pom'n Roll", shaking up the region. The idea is to highlight lesser-known parts of Bordeaux, like this serious organically farmed Côtes de Bordeaux. Not sure if this is a pure Merlot or a blend, but it is undoubtedly a very good wine. Concentrated fruit, a serious tannic structure, balanced acidity and good length. The label states "Bordeaux à boire", but actually this has a very classic ageworthy feel about it, giving many Saint-Emilions a run for their money. Should be perfect in 2 years time, but highly enjoyable now. Very good value at 15 euro. Even better the next day. Abv. 13,5%. — 4 years ago

Dark fruit, a touch oaky still but still a medium bodied wine, fruit forward with tannins that have a nice texture and some richness to the palate. Very nice QPR.

Fruits noirs, mures, boisé pas tout à fait digéré mais une bouche de corps moyen assez avenante avec un beau fruité assez riche, bouche savoureuse avec des tannins qui ont une belle texture. Très bien pour le prix. 89-90

Takes time to open but does to a clearly right bank style, some dark fruit, violets and some oak but without excess, the palate is dense and rich without any heavyness, nice volume with tannins that still show some power but qith such a nice silky texture, very Pomerol in stulw. It is a very good bottle without being grand.

Prend du temps à se livrer mais s’ouvre sur un style clairement rive droite. Des notes de fruits noirs, de la violette aussi, une touche de bois bien dosée, la bouche est dense et riche sans être lourde, un beau volume, des tannins puissants mais qui ont cette belle texture veloutée. Excellent vin ici aussi mais son plus grand défaut a été d’être servi en même temps que Haut-Brion 82... Un vin plus sur le fruit, très jeune... ne fait pas ses 31 ans. C’est moins complexe et il va encore se bonifier à mon avis. — 4 years ago
