Beautiful Italian dessert wine - prefer over ice wine or Sauternes — 6 years ago
Second favorite from the wine party! In-laws met the owner and winemaker :) Great full rich color when pouring. And heavy blackberry notes! — 8 years ago
Grapes: 90% Sangiovese, 10% Merlot Winery Tasting Notes: This wine, mostly Sangiovese grape, greets the eye with a very intense ruby red color. It opens with a complex and elegant bouquet, with nuance of mature fruits and vanilla. Soft on the palate, well balanced with persistent aftertaste. Aged in big oak casks for 18 months. — 8 months ago

Dried herbs. Cooked cherry. Sage. Dried cranberries. Good acidity. — 10 months ago
This is the Riserva. Needs some air to coax out its charms, but then this turns into a very charming and undemanding Chianti. Nose has ripe, slightly macerated cherry, a whiff of vanilla, and some nice gravelly notes. In the mouth, it’s quite fruity, with good concentration, but there’s a lot of very fine-grained tannin integrated. Acids are quite soft but present enough for balance. Not the most complex but fun and a great value. — 2 years ago

This cuvée, from a small Chianti Classico-based co-op, is always a fantastic value. The 2020 Lamole is no exception. I love wines from this subregion. This has a boisterous nose of slightly sour cherry, pungent wild herbs, and dried loamy gravel. Soft in the mouth, and darker-hued than the nose suggests. The acids are quite soft (it’s a ‘20, so . . . ) and there’s plenty of ripe, soft tannin providing tactile interest. Ideally I’d like a bit more depth and length, but since I got it for under $20 there’s no way I’m complaining. — 4 days ago
